Credit card processing is a vital component of our retail POS solution. By partnering with either Vantiv Integrated Payments or Sterling Payments, your business can accept the full range of credit, debit and gift cards. It adds up to more flexibility to operate your way.
For many years we have been partnering with Vantiv Integrated Payments (formerly Mercury Payment Systems), an award-winning firm that specializes in processing credit, debit and gift card transactions. Vantiv Integrated Payments uses the Internet to process sales, and their platform is integrated with Windward’s retail software products. Vantiv allows for both Canadian and US merchants.
We are also pleased to offer integration to Sterling Payment Technologies for our US clients.
With Windward Software’s integrated credit card processing option, your customers will experience authorization speeds as fast as three seconds. Businesses also benefit because there’s no need for a phone line at each register.
Processing transactions at point of sale is straightforward, meaning there’ll be a decrease in errors. Cashiers will never miss a failed authorization because the tender won’t be accepted. You can use this retail software to view transactions reports in real-time before they close their batch. This gives you a better chance of discovering a transaction that was double processed before you close.
Gift card processing is a boon for business. If you need proof of that, just look at any major retailer and you’re likely to see them on offer. With Windward’s retail software, you can add gift cards to your list of sales options with minimal investment.
Some of the benefits include:
Card-present fraud in the US is above the world average, and it has only continued to increase. EMV (which stands for Europay, MasterCard, Visa) supports enhanced verification methods such as PIN and signature verification. The goal of this system is to facilitate more secure transactions and reduce fraud, which is why Windward Software’s integrated credit card processing system is designed to be compatible with EMV.
Starting in October 2015, there has been a fraud chargeback liability shift for merchants that choose not to implement EMV. In other words, if your retail software doesn’t use a credit card processing format that supports EMV, you could be responsible if someone fraudulently uses a credit card in your store.
In addition, starting in 2015, U.S. issuers will begin to issue more cards that will have EMV chips on them. In fact, the Payments Security Task Force (PST) predicts that 575 Million EMV cards will have been issued in the US by the end of 2015. Windward’s system is totally compatible with these new cards.
No credit card required.
