System Five on Cloud · Cloud & Connected Systems

WebAPI

WebAPI is part of Cloud & Connected Systems in Windward System Five. System Five includes 13 documented capabilities here — all 13 optional.

These 13 capabilities sit within System Five's 1287-capability documented set — a selection, not a ceiling.

Optional

Authenticated API Access Optional #

Keep API access tied to real users

API calls use basic authentication tied to System Five user credentials and security settings, and support TLS 1.2 from version 6.2.4.255 onward.

Change-Tracking Endpoints Optional #

Sync only what changed since last time

CustomerChanges and InventoryChanges endpoints let an external system pull only the records that changed since it last synced, backed by a record-state tracking setting inside System Five.

Customer change feed Optional #

Pull only the customers that changed

A CustomerChanges endpoint returns only customer records modified since a supplied effective date, with page size and page number paging, replacing the slower legacy Get_Customer_Changes call.

Customer create, update and lookup Optional #

Keep customer records in step across systems

Endpoints add customers, update retail customers, list customers and find a customer by email address, covering identity, billing and shipping addresses, phone and email, credit limit, terms, discount, tax status, salesman, price schedule and department.

Inline customer creation on invoices Optional #

Create the customer with the sale

An invoice posted through the API can carry billing name, address and location details directly, so a new customer is created with the sale instead of requiring a separate customer call first.

Inventory change feed Optional #

Send only changed items to the website

An InventoryChanges endpoint returns only items modified since a given date, including stock quantity by department, per-department sale date ranges and regular and sale prices, and can be filtered to items flagged for e-commerce export.

Inventory read and create endpoints Optional #

Create and read items through the API

GET Inventory returns part numbers, descriptions, supplier, stock levels, barcodes, pricing tiers and free-form custom fields; POST addInventory creates inventory records with full pricing configuration.

Invoice creation endpoint Optional #

Push outside orders in as invoices

AddInvoice creates estimates, work orders, accounts receivable invoices and cash sales, carrying header totals, taxes, department, reference numbers, line items with quantity and price, and payment records through InvoiceTenders.

Price code and price schedule API Optional #

Price items created through the API

A GetPriceCodes endpoint returns valid price codes so API-created items can be priced by fixed price, markup, margin or discount across the system's configured price schedules.

REST Endpoints for Core Records Optional #

Read and write core records by API

Documented endpoints cover Customer, Inventory, Invoice, Category, Keyword, Units, Vendors, VirtualInventory and APBill, supporting create, read and update operations with pagination for large data sets.

Swagger 2.0 Self-Documentation Optional #

Let developers see the API for themselves

Every endpoint publishes its own Swagger 2.0 specification that developers can browse in a browser, load into Postman, or paste into an OpenAPI editor.

System Five WebAPI Optional #

Open your data to outside systems

A REST/JSON web service that exposes System Five data to outside applications, documented through a Swagger interface with credentials and keys issued by Windward.

System Five WebAPI Service Optional #

Get data in and out without staff typing

A Windows service that opens a REST doorway to push and pull data in and out of a System Five database without a user sitting in the application.
