Promotion Rules

Promotion Rules is part of Promotions & Selling in Windward System Five. System Five includes 6 documented capabilities here — all 6 optional.

These 6 capabilities sit within System Five's 1287-capability documented set — a selection, not a ceiling.

Optional

Buy-quantity mix and match Optional #

Run buy-three-get-one across a range

Rewards a customer who buys a set number of items from the promotion group on one invoice, with an optional per-invoice maximum. Paired with the fixed sale-price reward it applies to every unit above the threshold and works mix-and-match across all items listed on the promotion.

Customer card identification Optional #

Tie the sale to the loyalty customer

Triggers the reward when the shopper presents a customer card, name, account number or phone number, so purchases can be tracked to that customer. A maximum-invoices setting caps how many times it can be claimed.

Job-number based pricing Optional #

Give contractor pricing on a named site

Gives a discount or points when the invoice is coded to a specific job site or job number, linking the offer to job costing. Commonly used to grant contractor pricing on a named project.

Multi-visit purchase tracking Optional #

Reward customers who keep coming back

Rewards a customer who buys a required quantity of qualifying items within a rolling number of days, across separate invoices. Requires a customer attached to the invoice so purchases can accumulate.

Scanned coupon redemption Optional #

Take coupons at the till without fiddling

A coupon carries its own barcode and can be scanned before or after the item at the till. Limits are set per invoice for maximum coupons, maximum items per coupon, and a maximum discount-from-list percentage above which points stop accruing.

Spend threshold discount Optional #

Discount once they spend enough

Triggers when the customer's qualifying items reach a set dollar value measured at invoice list price, then discounts those same items by a set percentage from list. The threshold is judged on list price even when the customer is already on a better price schedule.
