Queued orders from the inventory screen
Optional
#
Flag something to order without stopping
While reviewing an item in Inventory Maintenance a buyer can flag a quantity to order without leaving the screen; it becomes a queued order that any later PO for that supplier can pull in with Add Queued Orders.
Quote requests and PO creation from the buying report
Optional
#
Turn the buying list into purchase orders
From the Required Orders report a buyer requests a quote from one supplier or all of them, by print or direct fax, then creates a purchase order per selected supplier, tracked on a Purchase Orders tab showing which suppliers already have a PO number.
Required Orders Report
Optional
#
Know exactly what to order today
Determines what needs ordering using either high and low levels or sales over a date range, showing the formula in the window as required quantity equals additions minus deductions. Special orders, queued orders, back orders and unsent purchase orders can each be included or excluded, and results are split into a tab per supplier plus a No Supplier tab.

Optional — Departments
#
Order only what you actually need
Calculates suggested order quantities and can exclude stock already committed to layaway invoices and work-order backorders, so those units are not re-ordered. Ordering needs can be run across a selected combination of departments in one pass.
Seasonal and per-department min and max
Optional — Departments
#
Set stock levels per branch and season
Highs and lows can be fixed year-round, varied seasonally so the maximum and minimum change with the time of year, or set per department in departmental installations.
Seasonal highs and lows
Optional
#
Stock up before the season, not after
Items hold high and low stock levels with seasons, plus days-out-of-stock tracking, to drive reordering that follows demand through the year.
Suggested orders from min and max
Optional
#
Order what is short, not what is coming
System Five proposes order quantities for the current PO's supplier only, comparing the item's High and Low settings against quantity in stock plus quantity on order plus quantity on back order — so it never suggests re-ordering something already coming.
Superseded part handling in ordering
Optional
#
Order the part that replaced the old one
The buying report includes a superseded part when it can still be ordered or has outstanding special or queued orders, and detects recursive supersession loops, listing up to 100 offending part numbers rather than looping.
