Account budgets and trend charts
Optional
#
Compare actual spend against the budget
Each account holds monthly budget values by year, set individually, set to one figure for every month, or divided from an annual amount; a balance-versus-budget view can be printed or exported and a chart tab graphs the account as a bar, line or pie over any number of years.
Category-driven ledger structure
Optional
#
See profit by the categories you sell
Main categories and sub-categories define both how stock is searched and how profit is reported, and three-digit category numbers automatically create the matching income and cost ledger numbers. Category types change behaviour — a labour category carries no stock control and no cost of sales but does track the mechanic.
Chart of accounts
Optional
#
Set up the books the way we work
Assets, liabilities, owner equity, income, cost of sales and expenses in a four-digit chart, with a maximum of 9000 ledger numbers overall and 1000 within each account group, filterable by account type.
Country-based default chart of accounts
Optional
#
Start with a chart that already works
Selecting a country and pressing one button builds a standard chart of accounts, with the control accounts the system posts to — receivables, payables, main bank, cash clearing — pre-set to standard accounting numbers.
Long ledger numbers and sub-ledgers
Optional
#
Group accounts so reports read clearly
Optionally the chart becomes a hierarchy of general (header) and detail accounts up to 20 characters, so banks, tax credits, fixed assets or credit cards group and report together — and A/R or A/P can carry a sub-ledger per customer or supplier account number.
Posting limits and reconciliation flags
Optional
#
Stop a fat-finger posting to an account
Each account can set a maximum and minimum amount that any single transaction may post to it, and where ledger account reconciliation is enabled accounts can be individually marked for reconciliation, with the flag shown in the chart of accounts.
