Optional

Best-price calculation Optional — Rental #

Give the customer the best rate automatically

The system computes the rental charge from the elapsed out-to-in time across the hourly and daily rate ladder and gives the customer the best price the rate card allows.

Business hours by day of week Optional — Rental #

Bill hire time against my opening hours

Rental start and end times are set individually for each day Sunday through Saturday, and those hours define the business day shown down the left of the day-view booking grid.

Non-chargeable days Optional — Rental #

Skip charging for days we were shut

Specific days can be set as non-chargeable so nothing is billed for them, as an alternative to a reduced weekend rate. A holiday inside a rental period can also be handled by shortening the period, locking the price, then restoring the dates.

Price calculation audit trail Optional — Rental #

Show the customer how the charge adds up

With supervisor override on, a Calculations tab in the rental status dialog shows how the rental charge was arrived at, and the completed invoice shows time out, time in and how the price was determined.

Price levels on rental lines Optional — Rental #

Give trade customers their own hire rate

A rental line's price can be set from a customer price level, with the level's price shown for the rental period already set on the line.

Price override with recalculation lock Optional — Rental #

Hold an agreed price when dates change

A clerk can override a rental line price or add a discount; a flag is then set so the system stops recalculating that line even when dates change. Clearing the flag restores automatic pricing.

Rate types and rental rules Optional — Rental #

Price a whole class of kit at once

Rules define how each rate type calculates and associate rate types with inventory sub-categories, so a whole class of equipment inherits a pricing method rather than being priced item by item.

Rental surcharges Optional — Rental #

Add a standard surcharge to every hire

Additional charges can be configured as a percentage of the rental items on an invoice.

Time period coverage checking Optional — Rental #

Catch gaps and overlaps in my rates

Once time periods are defined, the setup runs a coverage check for overlapping or missing periods across the ladder.

Time-period rate ladder Optional — Rental #

Set hourly to monthly hire rates

Rates are structured across hourly, half-day, full-day, weekly and monthly time periods, each of which can be activated or de-activated without being deleted. Rates are then attached per item on the Rental Rates tab.

Weekday, weekend and seasonal date pricing Optional — Rental #

Charge more in season, less midweek

Rates vary by date period as well as duration — weekday versus weekend, summer versus winter. A shop closed Sunday can charge a single Weekend Rate for a Saturday-out, Monday-back rental.
