Depreciation by percentage on rental
Optional — Rental
#
Write fleet value down as it rents
A percentage set on the item's Rental Rates tab depreciates a serialized unit each time it is rented on a final invoice — recorded in the invoice line's Landed column and as a negative in the serialized record's Wholesale Extra, reducing Landed value until it reaches zero, after which no more is taken. Unitized items have their Capitalized field updated to match.
Depreciation history per unit

See how a unit was written down
Each serialized unit's depreciation entries are viewable from the Serial Numbers tab of the inventory record via a Depreciation button.
Lifetime rental time and revenue
Optional — Rental
#
See what a machine has earned lifetime
Lifetime rental hours and revenue are stored for both pooled and serialized inventory, updated whenever an item reaches returned state on a completed invoice, shown in the Statistics area of the Rental Rates tab and per unit on the Unit record's Rentals tab.
Lifetime value adjustments and rebuild
Optional — Rental
#
Rebuild lifetime figures lost to a crash
Lifetime figures accept a one-off Starting Value, which is overwritten when re-entered, plus additive Manual Adjustments that cannot be deleted but can be reversed, with a view of all prior adjustments. A Toolbox routine recalculates lifetime revenue and time if a figure was lost to a crash or network failure.
Maximum-revenue benchmark rate
Optional — Rental
#
Measure revenue against what the fleet could earn
A default utilisation rate type is configured so the system can work out the maximum possible rental revenue for a period and express actual revenue against it as dollar utilisation.
Non-availability factor
Optional — Rental
#
Stop maintenance downtime skewing utilisation
Each item can carry a non-availability percentage — set as a type and value, for example two days per week, calculated as 1/7 x 2 or 28.57% — so time out for maintenance is excluded from the utilisation denominator. Left at zero, maintenance downtime counts against utilisation instead.
Rental profit and loss by unit
Optional — Rental
#
See which units make money after repairs
The Rental Profit and Loss report sets rental revenue from invoices against cost taken from rental maintenance invoices and reports the net per unit, filterable by date, department and category or item, with an option to exclude units that had no activity.
Time, dollar and cost utilisation

#
Know which machines earn their keep
The Rental Utilization report calculates Time, Dollar and Cost utilisation per rental item from returned rental lines on completed invoices, with published guidance on reading the combinations — high time plus low cost utilisation means rates are too low, low plus low means consider selling the unit.
