Availability separate from stock
Optional — Rental

Keep rental availability separate from stock counts
Renting an item out does not remove it from inventory stock counts; availability for a booking window and on-hand stock are tracked as two different things. Rental items can also be sold off the fleet, which does deplete stock.
Dynamic and Tag-Along rental kits
Optional — Rental
#
Rent a kit and get everything back
A kit puts several parts on the invoice in one action. Dynamic kits check availability of every sub-item for the period (a canopy plus its four poles); Tag-Along kits check only the main item, price sub-parts at zero as included in the main rate, but still track each sub-part's out/returned status.
Rental categories
Optional — Rental

Set up what is available to rent
Every item offered for rent sits in a dedicated rental category or sub-category, flagged with type 'R', which is what exposes the rental rate and scheduling behaviour on the item. Unlimited categories can be created.
Serialized and non-serialized renting

Rent pooled kit or a specific unit
The same module rents pooled non-serialized stock and individually serialized units. On a reservation the specific serial is left unassigned and is only chosen at pickup, when the actual available unit is known.
