all 14 in the standard set.

These 14 capabilities sit within System Five's 1287-capability documented set — a selection, not a ceiling.
Optional
Block and move shipped lines
Optional
#
Bill what ships today, back order the rest
Available quantities can be blocked and moved to a new invoice so the customer is billed and paid for what is going out today, while the shortfall stays on the original work order as a back order.
Estimate to order conversion
Optional
#
Turn a quote into a real order
Estimates hold no stock and post nothing to the ledger, and can later be converted to a work order, layaway or final invoice. Items marked for deletion in inventory since the quote was written are flagged on conversion.
Fifteen transaction types
Optional
#
Handle every kind of counter transaction
One document type covers cash, charge, estimate, work order, layaway, back order, service, transfer, paid-out, received-on-account, finance payment and both directions of RMA, each with its own posting behaviour.
Invoice Batch Report and reprint control
Optional
#
Reprint a failed invoice batch safely
Selects invoices for batch printing by date range and type, filtered to all, printed only or not-printed only, with a starting invoice number so a failed batch can be resumed part way, and named printed batches that can be re-reported.
Invoice layers
Optional
#
Show a summary, keep the detail
An order can be split into titled layers with a summary layer that prints only the layer names and values, while the full component detail stays stored against the invoice. Lines are moved between layers by block or right-click.
Invoice profitability at the counter
Optional
#
See the margin before closing the sale
Double-clicking the invoice total shows the profitability of the transaction while it is still open.
Invoice Report
Optional
#
Pull up any invoice by any filter
Reports invoices by type, sub-type, department, category, date or creation date and customer, with profit analysis, invoice-line detail, credit-invoices-only, tax-exempt-only, PO number and hide-zero-total options, plus customer state and country filters and salesperson ownership rules.
Invoice sub-types and print batches
Optional
#
Group invoices printed together for checking
Sub-types further categorise transactions for reporting and can drive which printed form is used. First print stamps a date and time, so invoices printed together form a reportable batch.
Layaway with staged payments
Optional
#
Let customers pay off goods over time
Layaway invoices flag stock for a customer and accept partial payments; the stock is not relieved from inventory until the balance is paid and the invoice is converted.
Open work order and layaway conversion
Optional
#
Turn finished work orders into invoices
Lists work orders, layaways and back-order invoices that have not been completed and so have not yet created receivables, with item detail, expected delivery date and margin, then converts the checked work orders to A/R invoices in bulk, printing invoices and shipping labels from the multi-invoice print setup.
Park and recall a sale
Optional
#
Park a sale and finish it elsewhere
A non-tendered sale is suspended to an Invoice Parking Lot, a parking slip prints automatically, and the sale can be recalled at another till or by another user — by barcode where the slip printer supports it.
Signature capture and PDF invoice export
Optional
#
Prove the customer signed for it
From the Invoice Report, selected invoices can be printed with their last captured signature through Acrobat, or exported to PDF into a configured directory with a file named for the invoice number, either just the signature capture or all invoices.
Typed Invoices and Quick Cash
Optional
#
Ring a fast cash sale without details
A sale is opened by clerk and invoice type, such as C cash sale, A accounts receivable or W work order, with a default type configurable. Quick Cash records a simple sale with no customer details attached.
Work orders with deposits
Optional
#
Hold stock and take money upfront
Work orders act as works in progress: stock is committed immediately, part payments can be taken against them, and they convert to a charge or cash sale on pickup.
Every capability on this page is documented in the System Five capability index.
